Class at Galina, New Mexico
Here are Catechists Marie Bodin and Julia Doyle with their class at Galina, which is located in northern New Mexico. Notice that the students are not wearing hats or bonnets. This would seem to suggest that the Catechists were using the building to teach this class. For many of the classes the Catechists would teach under a tree due to lack of indoor space. Catechists Bodin and Doyle were two of the first three women who accepted the call by Fr. Sigstein to minister to the missions in the Southwest.
